Our Children’s Centres are part of a nationwide programme of services for 0-5 year olds and their families. Our aim is to offer information, advice and support to parents, as well as integrated childcare and early learning, health services, family support and parental outreach.
Every week (excluding holidays) we run exciting groups where you and your children can play and learn together. Across the Centres, we also run a number of fun and educational courses, which you are very welcome to book onto (have a browse using the tabs above).
In addition to our groups and courses, we also host Breastfeeding Support Groups and Health Visitor Clinics – which are ‘drop-in’. So if you need to get your child/ren weighed, or have any concerns, you are welcome to pop in.
These groups, courses and clinics are run across our nine Children’s Centres:
- Six Bells Children’s Centre
- Cliftonville Children’s Centre
- Priory Children’s Centre
- Newington Children’s Centre
- Newlands Children’s Centre
- Callis Grange Children’s Centre
- Birchington Children’s Centre
- Garlinge Children’s Centre
- Millmead Children’s Centre
Thanet Children’s Centres also provide a number of services, including home safety assessments, help with Free for Two childcare funding, adult and child Healthy Start vitamins, ‘One Stop Shops’ (free advice, information and support from a range of agencies under one roof to help victims of domestic abuse), an NHS Stop Smoking service.
Did you know we also take in donations at our children’s centres? Excluding car seats and electrical items, we take in clothes, toys, baby baths, prams, high chairs and more, to be passed on for free to families in need. We do ask the donations be in good condition.
If you are in need of anything for your child, you are welcome to contact your local Children’s Centre; they may be able to help you. Or, if you have any old children’s clothes, toys, etc., then your local Children’s Centre will gladly take them in.
